Wedding At Cherwell Boathouse, Oxford
Nick and El’s planned their colourful, joyful wedding at Oxford Town Hall, followed by Cherwell Boathouse in Oxford. Oxford town hall is one of the most beautiful town halls i’ve ever had the pleasure of working in. It has huge, ornate windows and grand wooden panelling. I’d definitely recommend it if you are planning your wedding in Oxford. The ceremony was full of giggling, tears and hugging. My favourite kind! The wedding reception took place at the Cherwell Boathouse, which was the perfect setting for a relaxed and fun wedding. Because the venue is situated on the canal, the couple made their entrance on a boat and the guests were able to row up and down to their hearts content during the drinks reception. It was brilliant to witness the delight of the guests and even I got to have a go!
I particularly loved Nick and El’s styling choices for the day. El wore a white dress with a splash of pale pink, the maids were in silky blue dresses and the boys had a few different tones of blue in their suits. Brightly coloured flowers played a bit part, including El’s really beautiful flower crown. Their florist was Nongsmitinandflowers and she did a really incredible job. They also had a stunning floral wedding cake from Made by Adele. Unusually the couple decided to cut the cake and hand it out to the guests during the drinks reception – which actually worked really well because often by the time the cake cutting comes around, guests can be very full from the food and the cake isn’t touched.
