My Favourite Wedding Trends For 2025

2025 is the year that I get married so I wanted to do some research to find out what things might be popular. There were a ton of new wedding trends but these are some of my favourites.

Sustainability and Eco-Friendly Choices

As environmental consciousness grows, more couples are looking to make eco-friendly choices for their weddings. From sustainable venues to zero-waste décor and locally sourced flowers, the focus will be on reducing environmental impact. Some ideas on how couples are planning more sustainably are: Organic floral arrangements, recycled or biodegradable invitations, eco-conscious wedding favours, and wedding dresses made from sustainable fabrics like organic cotton or upcycled materials. One of the ways that we are trying to be more sustainable with our wedding is to use digital invites instead of printed ones. We have taken advantage of the free service that With Joy offers and created some really lovely invitations that we would email directly to our guests.

Intimate and Micro Weddings

After the pandemic, many couples are opting for smaller, more intimate celebrations with a focus on personal connections rather than large gatherings. This trend will continue in 2025. Weddings with guest lists of 50 or fewer people, often in unique and meaningful locations like at home, in intimate venues, in venues that wouldnt normally host weddings such as cool pubs. Micro weddings allow for a more personalised experience, with couples focusing on quality over quantity.

Personalised Wedding Experiences

More and more couples are looking to make their weddings a reflection of their unique personalities and i’m definitely here for that! Customised vows, hand-written love letters, personalised wedding favours, signature cocktails, and unique ceremony rituals. Some couples may even incorporate cultural traditions or hobbies into their celebrations.

Alternative Wedding Dresses

Brides are moving away from traditional wedding gowns in favour of outfits that express their style, personality, and creativity. Expect to see more non-traditional wedding dresses in 2025. Wedding dresses in bold colours like blush, lavender, or even black, or more unconventional options like jumpsuits, trousers, or tailored suits. Brides may also choose vintage, boho, or minimalist styles that reflect their individuality.

Bold, Dramatic Florals

This is one of my favourites and certainly something that we are doing - dramatic florals. Floral arrangements are becoming larger, more dramatic, and more sculptural, with couples opting for bold designs that make a statement. These florals often serve as the focal point of wedding decor. Big installations such as floral arches, ceiling florals, and cascading bouquets made from bright, bold colours like deep reds, purples, and rich oranges.

Tech-Savvy Weddings

With technology continuing to shape every part of life, couples are incorporating tech into their weddings for both convenience and creative expression. Live streaming weddings for remote guests, virtual reality wedding experiences, drones for aerial photos, interactive apps for managing the wedding day itinerary, and augmented reality features for invitations or guest interactions. Expect a bigger emphasis on high-quality digital experiences for those unable to attend in person.

Food as an Experience

Couples are moving away from the traditional sit-down dinner and opting for food experiences that are interactive, shareable, and a reflection of their tastes and culture. Multi-course tasting menus, food stations or food trucks, interactive cooking stations (e.g., sushi rolling, gourmet popcorn, or made-to-order tacos), and speciality drinks that showcase the couple’s favourite flavours. Also expect to see more sustainable food choices, such as plant-based menus or locally sourced options.

These trends highlight the growing wish for weddings that are not only beautiful but also reflect a couple's values, interests, and unique style and i’m definitely here for it!
