Those of you who know me will know that i’m a sucker for a sentimental story and this one still brings a lump to my throat. One of my absolute favourite people in the world is my grandad and we often share stories of our experiences in photography. He was a wedding photographer many year, back when only 12 images where shot on a film camera at weddings and one of my favourite past times is listening to him recall memories from his dark room. He has a huge collection of photographs that he’s taken over the years, one of which was a beautiful image of a family friend of ours and her husband, in the wedding car, on their wedding day. You may wonder why i’m telling you this…well this post contains images from Matt and Tamar’s engagement session and Tamar is the daughter of the bride in the photograph that my grandad took. Being able to carry on recording moments with this family is the most special feeling and gives me another connection with my grandad.
I loved this session. The light was absolutely perfect. This is always my favourite time of day to shoot because the light is soft and dreamy. I feel really lucky to live so close to The Roaches in Staffordshire. Matt and Tamar were keen to keep the session informal and natural looking but I think you’ll agree that they absolutely rocked it. This location is where they got engaged and so it seemed like a brilliant idea to shoot their engagement session here too. I cant wait to shoot the wedding in July next year! Here are some of my favourite images from the session.
