James and Sophie celebrated their winter wedding at the beautiful Crathorne Hall, up in the north of the country. During our first meeting, I felt an instant click with James and Sophie. We share a lot of the same love of and taste in music so we chatted at length about the bands and songs that we love. Music was quite an important part of their day and there were a couple of my favourites in the mix too. Winter weddings in the UK are typically pretty wet and a bit dark. James and Sophie’s wedding was almost like a bright summers day – minus the warmer temperature. The girls got ready at Crathorne Hall, whilst sipping champagne and doing a couple of zumba routines. The ceremony took place in a lovely little church before all the guests ventured back to Crathorne Hall for the reception. There reception was decorated with homemade touches such as a cake made by one of Sophie’s bridesmaids, the favours were candy canes wrapped into a homemade comical character. The venue was decorated for Christmas and James and Sophie added romantic christmas touches with giant light up letters, holly on their wedding cake and wintery bouquets. Part way through the meal, I peeked out of the window and spotted the most incredible flurry of snow. It was a bit of a christmas miracle and so we popped outside for a couple of portraits in the dark. James and Sophie were so great to work with and I had a brilliant time.
