In the summer last year, I shot Andy + Ellie’s wedding at their Hallsannery House wedding. A Hallsannery House wedding is a really special one. The venue is a big, beautiful countryside manor in Bideford, Devon. It had a real intimate, family focussed feeling to it as well as being more than spacious enough for the guests. The venue has beautiful, light and airy rooms where the girls and guys could get ready for the day ahead. Andy and Ellie were married outside, in the beautiful sunshine. The couple were then showered with confetti before enjoying some lovely drinks and nibbles on the lawn. The reception took place in the marquee set up at the back of the Hallsannery House. It was light and cool, which was very much appreciated on a hot summers day. The couple chose simple greens and creams in their colour scheme and they used lots of foliage to create a really lovely look. For Andy and Ellie, family is everything and this was really apparent during some very emotional speeches. They are certainly very well loved. When all the food was eaten and all the bubbly drunk, we headed out in to the evening air to take some portraits around Hallsannery House. This is always my favourite time of day to shoot because the light is softer and the couple is always more relaxed. I’d photographed them a few months before for their engagement session and so they knew what to expect and absolutely rocked it. Andy and Ellie had arranged for an ice cream van to arrive and serve some delicious ice cream to the guests for desert. Then the party kicked in and the guests danced the night away.
