On Saturday, I hung out with Chris and Emily at their wedding in Bath. Chris and Emily wanted a relaxed, fun wedding full of the people that they love. Due to health problems, the wedding had been a long time coming but I reckon that it was definitely worth the wait.
They had a very emotional ceremony in the family church, followed by a reception at Buckland Dinham Village Hall. This venue was a little gem! It is so quaint inside, had some very pretty grounds and sits next to some beautiful countryside. The guests ate canapés and played lawn games in the beautiful September sunshine before listening to some brilliant speeches and then eating a hearty hog roast meal. I don’t think there’s anything funnier than watching adults compete in a space hopper race. Emily wore a gorgeous, 50s style dress and sparkly shoes. She completed her outfit with a birdcage veil (my fave!). The maids were in beautiful navy blue, floor length dresses and vintage inspired sparkly belts. They had the most AMAZING wedding cake, made by Ellie from Milk Street Kitchen. It looked absolutely mouth watering. In the evening, the band kicked off with some great covers of classics and some very interesting (chris!) dance moves were witnessed.
Throughout the day, I remember hearing over and over again how Chris and Emily were such great people and how much of a great match they are and I agree wholeheartedly. I felt so welcome, valued and looked after that I feel a bit sad that its over!
Thank you to Chris and Emily for being so wonderful and please renew your vows soon!
