Dave and Lucy’s planned a relaxed, vintage style, July wedding. The ceremony took place at St Edwards Church in Leek, Staffordshire and the reception took place at The Ashes Exclusive Country House Barn Wedding Venue. The Ashes is a barn wedding venue, situated just outside Stoke on Trent. It is award winning and for good reason! If you are looking for a barn wedding venue, then definitely check them out.
Lucy wore a beautiful dress, with lace detailing and a gorgeous neckline, accompanied by a long veil. The maids wore beautiful blue, knee length dresses and carried bunches of pastel coloured flowers.
The sun shone for the whole day and the guests enjoyed canapés in the grounds before a very delicious meal – I had the lamb and it was very tasty. I always enjoy working at The Ashes because the staff team are a finely oiled machine. I always know that things will run smoothly.
The speeches were a lovely mix of comedy and emotion. Despite all the speeches that I’ve listened to, I still get a little teary and am relieved to be able to hide behind a camera!
After speeches were done, we ventured out into the evening light for some couple portraits. This is always my favourite time to shoot because it’s gorgeous. The couple ended their celebrations by dancing into the night.
Thank you so much Dave and Lucy, for inviting me to be a part of your day.
