Woody and Vicky invited me to photograph their festival style wedding, hosted by Blackdown Events in Taunton in May of this year. Woody and Vicky really wanted a relaxed, informal day. They wanted their guests to be able to have a lot of fun and a good ol’ knees up.
They decided to perform the legal part of their ceremony in the days leading up to the wedding to ensure that there were no restrictions on their day and they could have an outdoor ceremony. They hired some farm land and a marquee, provided by Blackdown Events.
Vicky’s dress was a beautiful, two layer, lace number. She looked incredible and the dress fitted with their festival wedding theme. The bridesmaids were dressed in a white blouse and plaited, peach, knee length skirt. Such a lovely combination and a great alternative idea for bridesmaid outfits. The ceremony was held outside, in the sunshine and the couple were surrounded by everyone that they love, all perched on hay bails.
After vows were exchanged, the party began with shots for every guest. The couple had booked the most wonderful catering company, who dished up piles of tasty indian food. After dinner and speeches, the guests laughed, relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful evening light before executing some of the best dance moves I’ve ever seen.
Thank you for inviting me, Woody and Vicky!
